There were a lot of good points in this episode. One thing that’s important to keep in mind is there are two sides to every story. We’ve only heard the wive’s story. Appreciated the discussion.

It honestly breaks my heart that Jessa is still so...deep into the cult. She used to have sucg a strong personality and spirit. Even the creepy way she's looking at him is straight out of Gothards teachings.

Great episode. I am emotional thinking about all the people who are probably praying over the couple who wrote in after hearing this episode. It is amazing to think about the intercession that might occur. Lots to take from this.

God's forgiveness erases the sin. We are a new creation. Old things pass away, all things are new. Praise God. God walks with us. When these emotions unfold, we ask God to give us the strength and wisdom to handle it.

Things that may keep a spouse from forgiving and moving on: 1) they sense their partner’s lack of true repentance 2) their partner continues to be deceptive about other things, 3) their partner shifts the blame for their past actions, refusing to accept full responsibility for their sin.

What if the person doesn't confess sin. We still need to forgive but we need to bring it up again.

It is also perhaps wise to renounce all demon spouses. Break soul ties as he might be picking up kn a 3rd party in the spirit realm. We need to renounce sin confess sin and turn away.

I had a couple of friends in college. I'm not sure the sexual history of the guy, but I think he was a virgin. He dated a super sweet girl who was a new believer and had had a serious relationship prior and was not a virgin. He became very abusive to her. It was weird. You meet this lovely girl and proceed to pick her apart. I think this is a jealous, abusive person holding their past against the woman. It's a self-righteous person not walking in the Spirit. He's letting satan lie to him and mess with his mind. My husband had a past. I knew about it in general terms, not details. I had seen other women torture themselves by asking detailed questions about those former relationships. I just knew it was unwise to conjure up images of the past. If it's forgiven, let it go. I don't listen to secular/CCM music anymore, but needtobreathe has a lyric, "leave the past right where it's at."

But that really is SO inconsiderate to never refill the ice cube tray (which takes hours to freeze up)!! Would have been hard for me, too (as a wife). 😣 I think she should have stepped up to just fill the ice cube trays as an act of love/service/consideration. Also, when he talked about the spoon thing, I was totally expecting his wife to be touched by it, but it actually sounded like she was annoyed/ungrateful in her response. Am sure he is storing up lots of treasure in heaven! ❤

I have four children and baby number four was born when my oldest was still four. I lost some weight in an attempt to feel healthier to carry another baby, but regained the weight. It has been super discouraging because I very much would like to have more children, and my husband is open to that as well. I just feel uncomfortable already with how I look, and it’s hard to imagine gaining more weight as is natural in a pregnancy and just feeling so big. My other hesitation has unfortunately been my mother-in-law who does not share the same sentiments on growing our family. Housework is not my strong suit, and she sees that as just one of several reasons why adding another baby would be a hindrance to our family. Thank you for this episode. It encourages me a lot that I can make changes to my lifestyle and habits that may be hard right now, but will greatly benefit my future self. I really see the potential of adding more children as something that will not be detrimental but an abundance of blessing, and while I may not be a model example of a larger family, it’s something the Lord would surely use to sanctify me and refine my life to better reflect Christ. Love you guys and thank you for discussing this relevant topic! ❤

The word and theme of Unity keeps on coming up in life too. Unity with God and each other. This theme is in marriage where two become one too. Heaven and earth. One kingdom where Heaven and earth are one. Marriage where two become one. One big family living out the essence of the Lords Holy spirit. Mirror of the Blessed Trinity. God the Father God the Son God the Holy Spirit. Three divine persons in one God. Jesus is God in person. Faith in action. Invisible God made visible. His spirit comes out of the unity of God the Father and God the son. So deep the Lords love! Beautiful.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray. O God, who have taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. ***something that just sat with me thought I’d share a piece of my mind and heart. A renewal begins with that very question. What do I believe and why do I believe it then how to live it out. The posture of the heart on the Lord changes the world. A renewal. The Lord will renew the face of the earth. The family is the nucleus a little domestic church since the beginning, it’s how he came into the world through the family. Witnessing his good works in the family and wanting to do the same in mine. To fully be alive living in alignment with the Lord. Living this laying our lives down with this posture toward the Lord gives him a path to walk here on earth. Heaven on earth. Where God is so is heaven. He is heaven. He is love. Faith come alive in the world. Faith in action. Invisible being made visible.

I found your channel about a year ago, and have loved learning from you all! It's so refreshing to listen to you dialogue about raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and leaning into the Word in all your decisions! Similarly to you, we believe that the primary role for biblical training and discipleship is in the home and that children don't need to go find their identity from peers but from parents who love them. We have generally opted out of kids ministry and youth groups to include our children in the greater body of believers. We value strong multigenerational families, not just accomplished individuals. Our kids are 12, 4, and 1, and have wonderful relationships/sibling friendships with each other. Our community group has lots of young kids, and our oldest is wonderful with kids and adults, but doesn't have many peer relationships. I'd love to hear your take on the value of peer friendships when finding like-minded friends is a bit challenging due to our counter-cultural decisions, and how you personally navigate (or plan to) decisions like VBS, Bible camp, prom, and the role and value of peer friendships, especially for our 12-year-old who doesn't really have peer-type friendships among siblings due to the age gap.

‭1 Corinthians 2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” I don't think we will be doing the same things we are doing here, in heaven. We live in a fallen world now, where we have some worldly pleasures, but when we get to heaven it will be beyond anything we can imagine!

And, whenever you do work up to Revelation, remember that it fits in the genre of Jewish apocalyptic literature (so there were specific purposes for writing and meanings for symbols that John had in mind and that his original audience would have understood in specific ways). Original audience and historical context is so important for understanding any book or passage of Scripture!

God's word is to bring correction to our spirit by love and forgiveness through the Christ. If you feel anxious or fearful, your focus may be in the storm instead of Him. He loves you, He loves us. Honor him, honor others. Grateful heart is important. Don't go crazy trying to figure out the world. Just stay in your lane with God. He'll show you.

I was so helped by Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem. A very reputable book that addresses really important topics- the inerrancy of Scripture, what are angels, election vs. free will, how did we grow in Christ-likeness, Christ's return and other things about the future. This is a book that presents the many views that Christians have on these topics and the relevant arguments and scriptures that support or go against the different view points. The author will tell you his point of view and why but it isn't a book that is just about what he thinks is right. Theology is so important to understanding the scriptures. It will be a lifetime of joy learning about all these things and marveling at how big God is and how limited we are. Best of luck to you :) enjoy and continue with your bible reading but start searching out a church and other resources for learning about the different perspectives on these topics!

I became ill and bedbound for a year after my 3rd baby, my nervous system completely collapsed. Somehow I mustered up the faith to have a fourth while still being so ill. After that baby, I was bedhound and housebound another year. To say it was a trial seems like an understatement. It took so long until I was finally able to be somewhat normal. I also was faced with the realization that if I did not care for my body my children and husband could end up without a mom. It was an very, very dark valley .After a break of several years and enjoying the children what I was already Given God has actually given me renewed health and both me and my husband a desire for another baby. We are so excited to be expecting another huge blessing, baby #5!! In a side note, My mom also raised 6 kids with a chronic illness and let me say her faith has opened up to me in a new way and gives me the faith to keep going. One baby at a time is easier, and God gives you the health and desire for each.

What a blessing to find a group to discuss the Scriptures with. Some Christians don't think that's how it should be and many don't read the Bible themselves so you can't even have those discussions. I crave those opportunities. I've want to hear discussions so I can get a better understanding, or be part of the discussion. I think it would be helpful to many people to be able to have those experiences. I've heard pastors preach against those discussions online. I think it's possible it could reach people that wouldn't be otherwise reached. God can use it all.
